About The Festival

A Glocester Tradition Begins

It all began in 2017, when a simple idea brought a little extra fall fun to the heart of Chepachet.

The first Glocester Scarecrow Festival was organized under the direction of Mark Rechter, Chepachet Grange #38, and the Glocester Libraries. The community quickly embraced the event, and before long, Main Street was filled with colorful, imaginative, and beautifully crafted scarecrows.

For the next two weeks, these one-of-a-kind creations lined Main Street, transforming the village into a vibrant celebration. Each scarecrow reflected the creativity, care, and community spirit of the people who made it, bringing smiles to neighbors and visitors alike. Together, they made the town look especially welcoming and gave everyone another reason to slow down, take a stroll, and enjoy the charm of Glocester.

What began as a small community event soon became a beloved Glocester tradition, bringing neighbors, families, local businesses, and visitors together each fall to celebrate creativity, community, and the unique character of our town.
